Why It's Important to Shine My Light

When I want to see in a dark room, I switch the light on. In the same respect, when I want to see and experience someone's true nature, it's important to see them with my light.

While I was in the library, my attention was drawn to a man working on a computer. He kept muttering to himself and seemed frustrated. After a few minutes, the man went to the helpdesk to ask a librarian for assistance on the computer. She came over to help.

Because of the man's heavy accent and increasing frustration, he was coming across as very aggressive, which was making the librarian very uncomfortable. She kept her distance and had a protective arm around her stomach.  The man told the librarian he wasn't happy with her help and accused her of acting as if she was scared of him.

As I felt the tension growing between them, the librarian told the man she needed to give his enquiries some thought and returned to her desk.

I decided to help diffuse the tension. I sent light to the man and woman.  I repeated to myself: "You are made in the image and likeness of God."

When the librarian returned, she handed the man some information, which he said was exactly what he was looking for and thanked her. Although he still had more questions,  I noticed he now came across as a lot gentler and the librarian was now less defensive.

Thank you for reminding me that if I want to see and experience people as they really are, I need to shine my light.

Light to all.

Quote of the Day - 9

"What God has prepared for all of us is the infinite fullness of His being, the unlimited substance of Spirit, found in divine Mind. Nothing is lacking in Mind, and everything man needs already belongs to Mind. So our prayer can be to acknowledge—and even more than this, perceive—that the Principle of all being is not matter but the divine Mind, infinite Love." ~~ David C Kennedy

Movie Buff

While I was reading a list of films directed by Richard Attenborough, who has recently passed away, I noticed the film "A Passage to India" wasn't on the list. I could have sworn he had directed that movie.

My Inner Voice said, "No, it was David Lean who directed 'A Passage to India.'"

Yes, of course it was, thanks!

Good to know my Inner Self is into movies.

Peace to you, Richard Attenborough!

Mind Games

I have two bodies.

One body is physical and visible; and my other body is imaginary and invisible.  It is my imaginary body that creates magic and wonder.

While I was in the library, I noticed a football under a table close by.  Presumably, one of the kids had left it there.

With my imaginary foot, I kicked the ball towards the children's section.  I then went back to what I was doing.

A few minutes later, two boys appeared and one of them kicked the ball towards the children's section.

I love playing mind games!

Love Breaks

As much as I love writing, there are times when I have no desire whatsoever to write or even read other people's writing. (Some people describe that phase as having a writer's block). I then take a break and focus on stuff that has nothing to do with writing.

I have observed that break is a perfect opportunity for me to simply relax and receive lots of new inspiration which come in the form of experiences, insights and realisations. I then share what I have received in writing. I also find myself with a renewed love for writing. I write for as long as I'm inspired until I am inspired again to take another break.

It's good to take a break from doing what I love so I can receive more of what I love and gain a greater appreciation of what I love.

Seriously Mixed Up Idea

Anyone who knows me on a personal level knows how much I LOVE the fruit juice, Vimto. It's actually my favourite drink in the whole world. It also comes in my favourite colour, purple.

I have some Vimto diluted in water every single day. I don't like it too sweet, just a hint of Vimto to turn the water purple. Sometimes,  I have it with milk.

I was delighted to read this article today about a lover of Vimto who had a Vimto theme wedding.

What a seriously mixed up idea!

Love it!

Wishing the couple a long and happy, purple marriage.

Taking a Rest

While I was going for a walk in the marshes, I thought of going left so I could sit on a bench and check my emails on my phone. I had an idea to go right and continue walking and then rest on the bench at the end of that path. I decided I wanted to check my emails now so I went left.

After I had finished reading, I continued walking on the same path.  I soon came across some muddy puddles. Now it made sense why I had been inspired to go right as that path is never muddy or has puddles. Fortunately, there were some dry spots which I had to hop to to avoid the puddles. I was also grateful I had worn my boots instead of sandals.

It's good to have a walking companion who always anticipates all my needs (including when to take a rest), even if I don't always listen to Him.

Under the Influence of Love

Photo of Richmond Park by E Joseph (August 2014)
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." ~~ 1 Corinthians 13: 13
What gives you power?  Is it your wealth, qualifications, status, profession, intellect or good looks?  I believe love gives you power.   I have observed people who love the most have power to influence others around them.

Three days ago, I decided to do a love experiment.

I started off by affirming my nature as Love.  I repeated a few times: "I am boundless, free and limitless Love."  Then I blessed everyone everywhere with love. I also told myself that my love attracts love and what I love.

On the way into town, I missed my bus. I knew there had to be a very good reason.  I caught another one travelling on a different route.  Just before I was about to get off, I had an idea to stay on the bus and travel to a particular park that I haven't been to in ages, which I love.  I decided to do just that.  I also intended to stop at the local library to use their Wifi and catch up on some stuff.

While I was waiting at one bus station, this woman almost bumped into me but I got out of the way just in time. I noticed the word "LOVE" in front of her t-shirt.   When she walked by again, she brushed against me.

After I visited the library, I spent about an hour at the park I love and even took some photos.  (See photo above).

Usually when I'm in town, I pick up a free newspaper at a bus/train station for my mother who enjoys reading it, but I didn't see any.  On one of my bus journeys home, I noticed this man reading the newspaper.  I was hoping he was going to leave his newspaper once he'd finished, but he took the paper with him. Nevermind! I'm sure one will come to me another way.

On the next bus I got on, there was a stack of magazines called "The Love School." It was the first time I'd ever seen such a magazine.  I wasn't surprised though that I found them on my bus as Love attracts love.  I picked one up to browse.  They were promoting courses about how to love and be in loving relationships.  While I was browsing the magazine, I noticed a passenger to my right reading the free newspaper.  When I smiled at him, he asked if I wanted the newspaper and I said yes, and he gave it to me. I explained to him how I had been hoping to get one and he was my miracle. He found it really amusing.

Later, while I was sharing my love adventure with my mother, she told me she had been inspired to memorise the famous chapter about love in the Bible (1 Corinthians 13). I had a feeling Love was working Her Magic through her.

If one person can influence others around them by being love, imagine what can happen when more people think of love every day?

My love experiment is ongoing and lots of wonderful things are happening.

Seeing the Good in Will

"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matthew 6: 22-23
Last night, I watched the movie, "Good Will Hunting", which was shown as a tribute to the American actor, Robin Williams, who passed away recently.

Although I've seen the novie before, it was a long time ago and I had a different mindset then. So I was curious to see it from a new perspective.

The movie is about Will, a mathematical genius who comes from a working class and troubled background. One day, Will's genius is discovered by maths Professor Gerald Lambeau at the university where Will works as a janitor.  Lambeau is so impressed by Will's talent he arranges for him to have therapy to help him release whatever is preventing him from expressing his genius.  Will doesn't believe he needs therapy and refuses to cooperate with the four therapists he's seen. Only when he meets Dr Sean Maguire (played by Robin Williams) does he experience a breakthrough; and the emotional walls he has built up to protect himself come tumbling down.

As I see it,  "Good Will.Hunting" is about being able to see the good behind a person's character and actions. Will had people around him who could see the good in him i.e. the professor, his therapist, his girlfriend and his friends, but it took a while for Will to see what they saw.

I also believe the film is a reminder about how your vision manifests as your experience. If you tend to see only the negative,  you will live in darkness. In other words, you won't even recognise the good in you or in the world.  When you see the world and yourself through the eyes of love,  you get to experience the beauty (light) in around you.

Will's eyes were full of darkness which was holding him back from his good. He had to learn how to see with the eyes of love, which inspired him to follow his heart and move to California to be with his girlfriend.

I believe like the character, Will, Robin Williams was so loved for the joy he gave others but I feel he couldn't see what we saw in him.

I believe "Good Will Hunting" is a great movie and I'm glad I got to see it again.

Thank you to all who made the movie possible!

Peace to you,  Robin Williams!

Knowing What is Good for You

"God's plan for man is in operation, and there is no other power or presence that can interfere with it." -- Dorothy Rieke
While I was in bed, I pondered about God's plan for mankind which doesn't allow human false beliefs to get in the way of your good. In other words, you are no longer mesmerised by the limiting beliefs within the human collective that our lot in life is years of hard labour, suffering, lack, sickness, aging and death. You know that you are here to experience the abundant life God has in store for you which includes beauty, creativity, fulfilment, happiness, harmony, love, peace, prosperity, supply, wholeness and eternal youth.

How do you know what is God's plan for you?

You are guided every step of the way or you feel compelled to take action.

After I finished pondering on these ideas, I was ready to go to sleep but I felt restless. To help me relax, I affirmed: "God's plan for me is in operation and there is no other power or presence that can interfere with it."

I still felt restless. I had an idea to get a drink. Even though I wasn't feeling particularly thirsty, I went to the kitchen to get some to take to the bedroom. On the way back, I noticed my mother was watching the movie, "Good Will Hunting" in the living room, which she said had only just started. She said the BBC was showing it as a tribute to the American actor, Robin Williams, who passed away recently.

So that's why I had been feeling restless! The film had been pulling me towards it. My mother was soon fast asleep. I ended up watching it on my own.

How does watching the movie fit in with God's plan for me?

First of all, I love Robin Williams. Second, although I've seen the movie before, it was a long time ago and I had a different mindset then. It was a good opportunity to reacquaint myself with the movie and see it from a new perspective. Third, the film's theme reflects my current preoccupation with vision, which I shall explore in another article.

In other words, the movie is part of the unfolding of my good, that's why it was brought to my attention; and I was compelled to watch it.

When God's plan for you is in operation, your good will drag you out of bed so you can experience it.

Top Banana!

Before a friend went on holidays to Thailand with his family, I asked him to bring me a souvenir. He promised to bring me a packet of banana sweets.

I saw my friend today. I was really looking forward to my banana sweets and then he gave me the bad news.. He said his daughter had found the sweets he'd bought me and had eaten them. He was very apologetic and tried to make up by offering me a chewing gum It took me a minute or two to get over my disappointment.

When I went home later, I received a wonderful surprise - a banana cake that my mother had been inspired to bake. It was delicious!

Top banana!

The Irresistible Power of Love - Revisited

When I opened the front door this morning, a cat that lives in the neighbourhood was sitting outside on the mat. I have seen him before. He's even posed for a photo, but he's still nervous around me. When I called out to him, he stopped and stared but then ran off. I kept calling and following him, but it made him more nervous. So I blessed him with love and went on my way.

My Inner Voice said the cat was attracted to me because of my love for cats.

Last night, while I was out with a friend, we chatted about our love of cats and how they teach us how to be more relaxed. I even made a mental note to myself to email him an article I wrote a while back about cats and relaxation.

The love I have for cats is an irresistible power that attracts cats to me, but that particular cat's fear is getting in the way of forming a close relationship. I'll just love and let go.

Nice Try!

During my bus journey, I thought to myself that I hadn't seen any pink cars in over a week and would love to see them.

Within a few minutes, a van overtook us and I noticed it had the company name "Pink" on it. The van stayed in front of the bus for about a minute and then turned down a side street.

Nice try, universe!  I said pink cars not cars with "pink" on it!

On the way home, I saw four pink cars.

I look forward to seeing many more pink cars.

Notifications and Choosing Whether to Act on Them or Not

While I was working on the Internet at the library, a notification came up to warn me that I only had 5 minutes left. (The notification is usually repeated every 2 minutes until your time runs out). I had a choice whether to act on it and extend my time or not. I decided to extend my time for another hour.

When my phone is switched on and I receive emails, texts and other updates, I receive the appropriate notifications. I have a choice whether to act on them or not.

I believe the Universe is constantly sending notifications of our good. We get to choose whether to act on those notifications or ignore them.

Do you have to be switched on to receive them?

If being "switched on" means you have to still your thoughts and be in peace to be able to receive inspiration then the answer is no. In my experience, it makes no difference whether I'm "switched on" or not. In other words, inspiration cannot be hindered in any way, shape or form. For instance, the other day, while I was busy fretting about an issue, my thoughts were stopped for a moment and replaced by a notification in the form of my intuition telling me to stop at a particular shop for some stamps. I didn't even think that shop sold stamps. Nevertheless, I acted on the notification and found they did sell them.

I have had tons of experience of this happening when I'm inspired to take a particular action whether I'm thinking or not.

Thank you, Universe, for your constant notifications of my good!

Beyond Translation

During my bus journey, a man and his young son got on. The man sat beside me and his son sat on the seat on his right.  As they chatted away in German, I heard the man say "Spider Man" and then continued in German. I was curious about that so I asked him if there wasn't any German equivalent for "Spider Man."  He said there wasn't. Spider Man is Spider Man.
He said he and his son were on the way to the Science Museum. I asked him if he'd been to the Olympic Park and he said no.  I said his son would love it.  Before I got off, I wished them well.
Isn't it interesting how there is no German equivalent for Spider Man?  I bet it's the same in other languages.  Some words just cannot be translated.
I'm reminded of a healing workshop I once attended.  While I was practising receiving distance healing from another student, in my mind's eye, I saw myself in a park and I also saw a ladder.   When I asked my friend about those images I'd seen, she said she had sent me peace as she felt I needed peace. She had also visualised a ladder that she used to climb down into my body to check that my organs were functioning OK.  Now it made sense why I had seen those images: the park represents peace as I usually find parks peaceful;  but there was no other way for me to represent a ladder but to see the ladder in mind.
I believe just like I translated peace into a garden, I believe God the Source is constantly being translated to fit our individual beliefs or consensus agreements. Religions have been set up based on our beliefs about God. Wars have been fought over God. In truth, like Spider Man, God is beyond translation.
God is God in any reality.

My Flock

As I was walking through this park, I noticed about 30 gulls resting on the grass. Even though they were not all together, I could see they were from the same flock. The moment a few got up to fly away, the rest left with them.

It got me thinking about my flock. I have a feeling I didn't incarnate alone. There's a group of us who came together to accomplish similar goals. We are all around similar ages. So far, I have only met one in person who I believe is part of my flock.

I wonder if the others remember why they are here? I can imagine when one of us remembers, the others will too.

I look forward to meeting the other members of my flock in person very soon.

What We Experience Depends on Our Vision

"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matthew 6: 22-23 King James Version

"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matthew 6: 22-23 New International Version
The above quotes are Jesus' teachings from two versions of the Bible.

I read it as there is a direct correlation between our experiences and how we see the world and others.  If you see the good in the world and in others, you get to experience the good in others and in the world. If you only see the negative in others and in the world, you get to experience the negative.

See only the light and your world is filled with light.

I was walking down this road yesterday when a man made a beeline for me and asked me if there was a hospital nearby. I told him there was a health centre not far away. He asked me how far and I told him it was only a minute away.

Today as I was walking down the same road, about the same time, another woman called out from across the road and asked me where the health centre was. I told her it was just round the corner.

Is there an echo or what?

Don't Worry about a Thing!

There is a passage in the Bible (Matthew 6: 25-34) where Jesus is teaching his followers how to handle all aspects of their daily lives. He tells them not to worry but focus instead on the Truth of God as their source and provider and everything will be taken care of.  (The King James Version of the Bible refers to that mentality as "take no thought").

I have a tendency to fret about stuff but I am getting better at trusting.

So my mother asked me to buy her some stamps. I also needed one for a card I was sending. I went to the local supermarket but they didn't have first class stamps. I decided to take a walk to the post office.  On the way, I was busy fretting about an issue. As I was walking by a group of shops, my thoughts were stopped and replaced by "I wonder if Staples does stamps?"  I backtracked, went into the shop and asked the manager and he said they did. I got my stamps.  I still had to go to the post office as the nearest post box was outside it.

Half an hour later, the thing I had been fretting about was resolved.

A friend and I arranged to meet up later. He's going away for 6 months and we wanted to catch up before he leaves.  He promised to text me what time he could meet up in the evening.  I decided to go home and have a meal and meet my friend later.  After I had finished my meal and relaxed, I got ready to meet my friend.  As it had been raining earlier I wondered whether to wear my boots or my sandals. I wore my sandals.  Just as I was about to leave, I received a phone call from my friend apologising that something had come up and he couldn't meet. I was amazed at how perfect his timing was. More like, God arranged for him to call me at the right moment.

An hour later, it started raining heavily. I was really grateful I hadn't gone out wearing my sandals as my feet would have been soaked.  I hate getting my feet wet!

My mother had planned to go out today but wasn't feeling well. I asked her if I could get anything for her on the way back. She wanted some food stuff which couldn't wait till the evening. Although she told me not to worry about it, I offered to get it for her.

On the way, I bumped into another friend. We had actually planned to meet up last week when she was on leave but she hadn't got in contact.  Although I had wondered about her, I decided not to worry about it. She was probably busy as she's got two kids.  When I saw my friend I asked her why she hadn't got in contact. She said she didn't take the whole week off as planned and she was also busy.  If I hadn't offered to run my mother's errand for her, I wouldn't have seen my friend.

Don't worry about a thing!  Everything is always working out for the best though it might not seem like that at the time to the human sense of things.  All I have to do is trust in God as my source and provider.

Nanou, Nanou!

Just yesterday, I was pondering about the meaning of life, as if I don't do enough of that already. :) I thought to myself, what's the point of everything when death comes at the end for 99.999999% of people.

Later, I had a fitful sleep. Around 3 am (GMT) I switched my phone on to browse the BBC website and heard the Hollywood actor, Robin Williams, had passed away. At first, I felt really sad as I was obviously picking up on people's sadness. I decided to focus instead on the joy I got from watching his comedies like Mork and Mindy and Mrs Doubtfire and felt immense joy.

I can imagine many people are asking themselves who the real Robin Williams was. I believe the Robin Williams who made people laugh was/is his real self. I know from my experience of depression that my Inner Self always made me see the funny side. It's very annoying when you are hell bent on staying depressed and dreaming of new ways to end it to have a Presence within showing you things that make you smile; or making you see the lighter side of things. Before you know it, you are beaming with joy.

Back to my earlier musings about life's purpose. I believe Robin Williams' life served an important purpose. Regardless how his character made his exit, he will always be remembered for the gift of joy he gave humanity, which is an eternal attribute of the Soul. Even looking at his face made me smile.

May the dreams that come for you be blissful ones.

Nanou, nanou, dear friend!

On Being a Back Seat Driver

At the start of my cab journey home, the cab driver was busy chatting on his mobile phone. I asked him to switch the phone as I didn't want him chatting and driving. I said I wouldn't have minded if it was a hands-free set.  He apologised and thanked me for reminding him not to chat on his mobile while he's working.

When we arrived at a particular junction, instead of turning right, he went left.

"Where are you going?" I said.

Again he apologised. Fortunately, there was a space in the road where he quickly turned round. He thanked me for alerting him just in time or he would have had to go all the way round. He said he was busy thinking of picking up his next passenger. I told him he needed to drop me off first before he went to his next customer.

Sometimes, you just have to be a back seat driver.

Being the Miracle

I love experiencing miracles! I also love it when I am the miracle for someone else.

Before I went to the shops, I knocked on my neighbour's door to ask if she wanted anything from the shops. She said a member of her family has just passed away and she's had to stay at home to receive phone calls from well wishers. She said she needed a loaf of bread and asked me to get it for her.

A few months back, when my neighbour was scared to go out after she had been suffering from panic attacks, I told her I used to have phobias too but I have overcome them. I assured her she would soon get better and go back to normal. She told me she's now feeling a lot better and even goes out on her own. I was really happy for her.

I love miracles!

"Thoughts are your guests. They have made a lodging house of your mind. It is wrong to think of them as yours; and this same mistake comes in the way of getting rid of them. In the America science fiction TV series, Star Trek: the Original Series, one of the lead characters is called Spock and he is half-human and half-Vulcan.  Spock doesn't react to things like his human counterparts; he usually finds lots of things fascinating.

I can relate to Spock's reactions as I tend to see a lot of things from the observer position, even those that are causing me pain.  In that way, I'm able to detach from the experience and observe whatever the experience is trying to reveal.

For instance, while I was at the library working on the computer, I suddenly felt this pressure inside the left side of my head and my right hand went limp and I could no longer type.   I thought to myself: "How fascinating that I can't move my hand!"

When I used to have persistent migraines, before the actual headache, I used to lose the faculty of reasoning and what makes things meaningful. I also used to have temporary amnesia and didn't even know who my mother was. Again, I wasn't bothered, I just found the experience fascinating. I always knew I would soon return to normal anyway, which I always did.

Back to my hand, after about a minute, I was able to move my hand again. I decided to leave. As I was walking to the bus stop, I felt a bit disoriented but I wasn't concerned in the slightest. I was fascinated by the whole experience. I waited for my bus and my bus soon arrived. During my bus journey, I checked my emails on my phone. By then I was feeling back to normal.

I believe all experiences are thoughts passing through my consciousness.  I can choose whether to observe them and watch them pass or react and take them personally. I find it's a lot more fun to see them as fascinating.

Quote of the Day - 7

"Thoughts are your guests. They have made a lodging house of your mind. It is wrong to think of them as yours; and this same mistake comes in the way of getting rid of them. If you identify as yours, you stand in the way of their exit. And the thoughts which are your temporary guests become permanent lodgers. By looking at thoughts impersonally, you sever connection with them. Whenever a thought or desire is born in you, watch its birth, see it grow before the mind’s eye, and then observe its decline, and the final departure.

"Repeat this observation with the second thought that enters the mind; watch also its birth, and growth, decline and death. Thus, in a quiet and detached manner—that is, as a witness—observe the constant stream of thoughts. Feel nothing about them, good or bad. Form no opinions about them, favourable or unfavourable. Just watch. Thus, by silent choiceless observation, the traffic of thoughts slows down; and finally, a state of thoughtless Bliss is achieved. In this state of Samadhi all thoughts vanish, and yet, paradoxically, the capacity for clear thinking develops. This capacity is what I call pragna.  It is essential to empty oneself of all thoughts, to develop this faculty of wisdom." ~~ Osho

What is Resistance? - Revisited

Five years ago, I wrote a piece called What is Resistance? about blackberries and when they are ready to be picked. I applied what I had learned about their readiness to life. I wrote that resistance is trying to force things to happen when they are not ready. I recently shared that article at Readwave, a blog for writers.

Today on my walk through the woods, I saw some kids picking blackberries.  One boy was advising his siblings what blackberries were ready. He was saying verbatim what I had written in my article. I thought it was amazing.

On my way back from my walk, I saw another woman picking blackberries. I asked her if she had found many ripe ones. She showed me a bowl of blackberries and I tried one. It was delicious.

It's interesting how that article I wrote way back is only getting more readership now. Is it possible I have been resisting sharing my articles to a wider audience because I wasn't ready?

I can't force things to happen. I have to let nature takes its course.

Let's Work Together for a Wonderful World! - 2

I wrote a piece recently called Let's Work Together for a Wonderful World.

Here's a news story about a passenger whose leg was trapped under a train and how the other passengers worked together as one to rescue him.

Let's keep that momentum going!
Let's work together to create a wonderful world.

Letting Go of Miss Polly

Fifteen years ago, I decided it was time to opt out of the medical model and learn how to tap into the Healing Power which I believe we all have within us. However, making that paradigm shift hasn't been easy.

While I was in the library, I heard this woman teaching some young kids from a book about what people do when they don't feel well. She said they either go to the doctor or they call the emergency services and are taken to the hospital.

I've also heard library staff teaching kids the nursery rhyme about Miss Polly whose dolly is sick and asks the doctor to come round. The doctor then prescribes some pills and says he'll be back the next day to settle his bill. I remember being taught that same nursery rhyme when I was a child, and that was a long time ago.

I can see now why I found it challenging breaking away from my old world view, as I was fighting against my old programming from childhood.  In other words, Miss Polly in me, who still believed in pills and paying for the doctor's bill, was fighting hard against the Real Me where all healing is free and limitless.

I've had to reprogramme my mind to accept that if I don't feel well, the only place to turn to is the Power within for healing that costs nothing.

With persistence and lots of love, I have finally let go of Miss Polly.

Love is Always Present

My brother treated my mother and my nephew (his son) to a meal at an "all you can eat" restaurant that does different cuisines. I had one helping of Chinese.  The food tasted great!  I also had some dessert. I even took some photos and we had fun.  Then my brother dropped me and my mother home.

Later, I fancied a muffin. My mother also had one.

Within half an hour, I started feeling sick. I went to lie down and prayed for the feeling to pass. I spent the rest of the afternoon spewing up everything I'd eaten earlier and going to the toilet.  While all this was happening, in my thoughts I kept asking for help and thanking God for help. My Inner Voice responded with "I love you! I am here!" While I was throwing up, I was aware of a loving Presence beside me. Despite how my body was feeling, I felt really peaceful.

In the meantime, my mother was so concerned for my well-being, she wanted me to go to the hospital. I told her there was no need for her to worry and I didn't need the hospital. I assured her my body was clearing out my system and I will feel better soon.  I told her I needed to be myself to pray.  I suggested if she wanted to help, she could also pray for me.

It took a while for my stomach to settle.  I managed to get some sleep for a few hours. In the middle of the night my stomach started playing up again but I quickly dissolved it by thanking God.  I then fell asleep.

No matter how dire a situation, I know Love is always present.  Instead of worrying or indulging in fear, I choose to focus on Love and give thanks for Love's presence. Love will dissolve the situation.

When I told my brother about what I'd experienced, he suggested that I should eat out more and my stomach will get used to different cuisines.  Next time I have any food, whether I have prepared it or not, I'm going to bless my food with love as I don't want to have that experience again.

Thank you, Love, for always being there for me!

Song of the Day - 3

"Got to Get My Heart Back" by Keisha Cole.

Watch the Birdie!

There's this advert on telly at the moment where they are using the song "Everybody" by the Backstreet Boys. Two days ago, I told my mother I once watched a video of a cockatoo called Snowball singing and dancing to the same song.

Today, I received a video attachment via email, from a friend in America, of a bird called Frostie dancing to the song, "Shake Your Tail Feather."

Note how similar the birds' names are!

How wonderful is that!

On Another Level

For me, the highlight of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow had to be the 4x100 metres relay final.  In the final leg, England was slightly ahead, but the moment Usain Bolt was given the baton, he shot off like the lightning bolt that he is; and was streaks ahead of the other athletes winning the gold for Jamaica.

I believe the reason why Usain Bolt is on another level to other athletes is because of the fun element to his character.  Before the 4 x 100 race started, while the other athletes were doing their warm-up exercises and looking serious, Usain was dancing to the music in the background which delighted the audience.  The energy in the stadium was electric.

I believe when you are having fun, you are expressing Joy which is on a completely different frequency to that of effort and hard work. In fact, Joy makes things easy and magical.

I'm reminded of a scene in the movie, Mary Poppins, where the nanny Mary Poppins is teaching the kids she's looking after about looking for fun in everything you do, which makes the task easy and magical:
In every job that must be done
There is an element of fun
you find the fun and snap!
The job's a game
And every task you undertake
Becomes a piece of cake
A lark! A spree!
It's very clear to see
That a...
Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
The medicine go dow-own
The medicine go down
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
In a most delightful way

I believe Usain Bolt is on another level because he doesn't operate on the realm of mere mortals but that of Joy.  Where there is Joy there is infinite Wonder!

Thank you, Usain Bolt, for making athletics fun.  We love you!

When I noticed this man walking ahead of me wearing a t-shirt with the words X [Computer Company Name] Advisor, I thought I'd have some fun with him.

Excuse me, could you give me some computer advice?" I said.

"Advice?  What is advice? What do you mean?"  he said.

"But your t-shirt says advisor?" I pointed to his shirt.

It was then he realised what I meant and smiled.

"I'm only playing with you." I said.

I recently had a brief conversation on the bus with a passenger sitting beside me. When I noticed the woman was looking at a map, I said, "Can I help?"

"I don't understand you!" she said.

"Where do you want to go?" I said.

"Sorry, I don't speak English!" she said.

Funny how the woman can't speak English, yet she said "I don't speak English!" in perfect English.

When her mobile phone rang, I discovered she was Italian.

I love irony!

Angels Watching Over Me

"Angels Watching Over Me" by E Joseph 2014. Effects created here.

"For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone." -- Psalm 91: 11-12
I love creating effects with my photos. The effects are representations of my beliefs.

Earlier today, I posted on my blog a photo effect of myself surrounded by angels. I called it "Angels Watching Over Me." This photo actually represents the following affirmation/prayer:
"The light of God surrounds me; The love of God enfolds me; The power of God protects me; The presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am, God is!" ~~ James Dillet Freeman
Later on, I decided to go on some bus rides. I do that sometimes to clear my head.

While I was waiting at one bus stop, this young man arrived. The way he was looking at me felt a bit creepy. He was even muttering to himself. I knew I was surrounded by love anyway and all is well.

When our bus arrived, I went upstairs and sat right in front. The young man followed me and sat right behind me, which I thought was odd as we were the only passengers on board. There was more than enough room to spread out. I considered swapping seats but that would have shown I was feeling intimidated by him so I stayed put. He also kept snuffling like he had a cold. There was a time when I didn't like being around people who snuffle as I was afraid of catching what they had. This time, I wasn't bothered as I know I am surrounded by love.

During the journey, more passengers got on. By the time my friend got off I was loving the journey as I haven't travelled in that part of town for ages.

While we were driving down this one way street, another passenger pointed out a car driving towards us. The bus driver beeped at the car to alert the driver and the car stopped just in time. Fortunately, there was enough space for the driver to turn the car round and drive ahead.

The rest of my journey was very peaceful and relaxing.

Thank you, angels, for your constant love and protection.
